Charity Contribution
1st Place Award Winners in the Open Category and Emerging Talent Category will be invited to manufacture their winning designs (or work with a sponsoring manufacturer) for a special international charity auction at SIJE 2019 supporting Mercy Relief.
Permanent Recognition
Winners and their winning designs will be permanently honoured on the International Jewellery Stars Website, publicized in supporting partner's social media platforms and more.
Winners will also be rewarded with an opportunity to network with leading jewellery brands and designers and enjoy worldwide media coverage and many more invaluable business opportunities.
In 2019, 93 designers submitted their works from 16 countries. The Open, Emerging Talent and Creative Collections categories were judged by a panel of esteemed jewellery personalities and winners chosen for their creativity, technical excellence and conceptualization of the Fantasy theme.
The 1st place winner of the Open Category and the 3 winners of he Emerging Talent Categories had their pieces manufactured as part of the competition.
16 Finalists were also entered into a public voting contest that generated 3188 Votes from 1774 individuals 62 different countries! The design with then highest number of public votes was announced as the winner of the IJS 2019 People's Choice Awards.
Launched in 2019 at the Singapore International Jewelry Expo in Marina Bay Sands, the IJA award is a collaboration between experts in jewellery commerce, design and education. CEMS, Caratell and JDMIS envision the IJA award to become the definitive symbol of excellence in the jewellery arts in Asia.

Mr. Michael Koh, founder of Caratell, lecturer and fine Jewellery designer established his company in 2004.
He holds a B. A degree in Sliversmithing from RMIT and has established his reputation from achieving numerous international jewellery design awards such as the Diamond of Distinction 1990 and Hong Kong Diamond Design Award.
Michael was also the first Singapore jewellery designer to collaborate with an international watchmaker, Moritz Grossman to design the watch, Tefnut ‘Sleeping Beauty’.
His passion for Jewellery design has greatly expanded through all kinds of art. Michael believes that ‘What differentiates a jewellery piece from a work of art lies in its design’..
Exceptional Jewellery Education
Founded in 2007 by award-winning designer and renown educator Ms. Tanja Sadow, the Jewellery Design and Management International School brings expert individuals with passion and experience together to deliver relevant, practical and comprehensive training in jewellery design, fabrication and business.
Since its inception, the JDMIS has graduated over 3500 students from its diploma and professional certification courses and provided customised training and training consulting services to a wide range of local and multinational jewellers; from family-run single-outlet SMEs to local multi-outlet retailers and multinational brands. Over 150 of JDMIS' independent students have gone on to develop their own design consulting, on-line and brick-and-mortar jewellery businesses.
The JDMIS is a joint venture with the Management Development Institute of Singapore; the oldest not-for-profit educational institute in Singapore with an established reputation for quality academic education in the region. JDMIS prides itself on providing inspirational, state-of-the-art of facilities to facilitate student excellence.
